AED Awareness Takes the Field

1 / 7

AEDs provide real-time audio and visual guidance. ZOLL AEDs go further, offering corrective feedback so bystanders know they’re delivering high-quality CPR right. With this kind of real-time coaching, 74% of Americans say they would feel more confident helping.

Having an AED nearby gives coaches, parents, bystanders and even teammates the guidance and confidence to act before EMS arrives.

Through the Red Sox Foundation’s Nike RBI program and broader youth sports network, ZOLL is helping underserved youth sports organizations and Red Sox staff and fans learn more about sudden cardiac arrest, the importance of accessible AEDs and the steps coaches and communities can take to be ready.

Together, they are working to help create safer places for young athletes to play.

PREPARE YOUR TEAM

Is an AED accessible within three minutes of where your team plays or practices?

When sudden cardiac arrest happens, every minute matters. Early CPR and rapid AED use can dramatically improve survival.

Would everyone know what to do?

The best emergency response plan is one everyone knows and has practiced. Assign clear roles so coaches, parents and community members are ready to call 911, start chest compressions and retrieve the AED.

Is the AED rescue-ready?

An AED can only help if people can find it quickly. Keep it accessible, clearly marked and regularly inspected, and make sure coaches, staff and families know where it is before practices, games and events.
